I learned a bunch of things from this chapter. I learned about the Four R's but what really stuck me was that as a Christian, reading your bible is something I must be doing and that there is NO EXCUSE to not spread God's word. The explanation of Jeremiah and Moses really stood out to me. You can't be too old, too young, not fluent in the language, or ANYTHING to stop you from spreading the Word.
Also, reading the Bible is something that should be doing on a basis, as well as memorizing a couple of verses to bust them out in conversation. And not just skimming or reading the words in the Bible but also studying (like a cow, solider, etc.) and absorbing the information written.
i learned a lot in this chapter like for example #1 "the fours" which is -realize -reconize -repent -recieve ...i also learned #2 the ways we should study the word Step 1 study the word like a mere man Step 2 we are to study the word like a student Step 3 we are to study the word like a cow step 4 we are to study the word like a soldier Step 5 we need to study the word like a lover Step 6 we should study the word like a teacher Step 7 then we are to study the word like a real person... and thats what i have learned from this chapter EXPLAIN
The two most important things that I learned from this Chapter was. First thing was, were not to young to spread God's word, we can be of any age and still have the heart to spread his word. Just like for Jeremiah, even though he was to young, he even told God he couldn't do it, but God refused his answer and said he could. God knows that each and every one of us can spread his Word and that we can stand out and be different from everyone else to spread the Word. And that nothing, nothing can stop you. It's what God wants us to do and we should start to do it.
2nd thing I learned was about the bible, we always have to read eat. I mean it's not like God is forcing you to read it, it's just that the Bible is like a "Treasure of God" it has everything in there about God, all you have to do is read it. When I read that in this chapter I was like woaah.. it also said that the bible is what's inside God's heart... So we should all take some time to read from the Bible, whether it's at school or home or anywhere!
One more thing that I learned was "The Four R's" now those really helped me out for when I want to talk to someone about God or if they want to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! -Raay
I learned (or rather i was reminded) that there are no excuses for not sharing the gospel. And i learned all the many ways 2 look @ the Bible. you hav 2 come @ it like a mere man, like a student, like a cow (in some respects), a soldier, a lover, a teacher, and lastly like a real person. it is alot 2 think about when i read but thats how 2 get the results were lookin 4 so when we find the time 2 bust out the Bible, we know exactly where 2 go.
there were many things in this chapter to learn, but the main two that i got were the four R's and to read the Bible like a teacher. the four R's are very useful because they are the basics of the gospel. you have to realize that everyone sins, recognize that you need forgiveness, repent for what you have done, and receive Jesus into your heart.
the next thing was about the seven ways to study the Bible. the one that i liked the most was the about doing it like a teacher. it's not only for our benefit, but also how we can tell others about the things that we have learned. and also do it in a way that makes sense to them.
Sorry im so late but ive been kinda busy, one thing ive learned from this chapter is to study the word and how i should study it. This part of the chapter really hit me because of several reasons, 1 because ive been in the church so long i felt that there is no part of the bible i dont know, so i kinda slacked on my studying. Another thing i learned was that, if i dont memorize scripture, then what good is my reading the bible? Memorizing scripture is vital to being a faithful christian and sharing my faith.
This is a little late, but this chapter was a good one to get me back on track with reading the Bible. Some Christians I know hardly even read the Bible but expect others to take them seriously when they're trying to tell them the gospel. If you don't know where certain passages are, how are you going to back up your argument or point?
Another thing I learned (well, I didn't learn it, I just realized it) that reading the Bible keeps us from sinning. I know at times that I've gotten angry that I would pick it up and start reading just to calm me down. And by the works of God, whatever I read either talked about anger, or something that was relevant to problems I was having that day.
And we must study in numerous ways to understand the ways of God, not just for our own understanding, but so that we can teach it to others. We should study the Bible as mere men, students, cows, soldiers, lovers, teachers, and real people.
I learned that there are multiple ways to give the gospel. I thought that you should always you the "confrontational approach", but that's not always the case.
I also learned that NOTHING should cause you to hesitate when you share the gospel. It's a message that saves lives. Are YOU going to just sit there and watch them die?! I'm not!!!
When sharing the gospel, here's the key verse: John 3:16. Learn it, Live it, Re-tell it.
I learned many importanted ways to study the word and I also learn there are four basic components called the FourR's. In the FourR's their is Realize, Recognize,Repent, and Receive. The one that stuck out to me was Receive. It stuck out to me because in the book it says receive means to accept what Christ has done for you.
Also, learn alot on studying the word. For example one was to be equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is inpsired by God and profitable for teching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
sorry for such late response but i think the most influencing thing i learned was the 4r's. I think they really break the 4 easy steps to ask Jesus into your heart. 1. Realize your sins which knowing that you have been doing something wrong. 2. Recognizing forgiveness which thanking God for forgiving you of your sins 3. Repenting your sins which is turning away from them and 4. Recieving the gospel of the Jesus Christ.
